Introduction to Surround Sound

Whether in the family room or the media room, HabiTech can design and complete a theater-like sound and video system to rival the finest commercial theaters. This is where the family will gather to spend time together and enjoy at-home movies. With the incredible selection of movies being released to DVD, satellite, and cable, every night could be a night at the movies.

The Theater-Sound system could include either a 5.1 Surround System, or a 7.1 Surround System.

5.1 Surround Sound includes two rear surround speakers for the “effects” in the movie, a front right and a front left speaker for the activity you are viewing on the screen, a center speaker to reproduce the dialogue from the screen in front of you, and a sub-woofer. The sub-woofer actually provides the bass frequencies for the theater-like sound and atmosphere.

7.1 Surround is much like 5.1 Surround, but with two additional surround speakers. 7.1 does provide an incredible theater-like sound, but if the room size or characteristics do not support a 7.1 design, the system would not recommended.
